June 14

Not sure how this think works, but will give it a try. Nothing new = have a couple new great=grandchildren, and several new graduates in the family. Ian in Spokane, and Eva in Winthrop. Even a graduate of the University of Washington, Emily Newman. Graduated in Comparative Language (I think that is what it was.Not feeling 100% by a long ways, but am not having the trigeminal neuralgia. Not sure if it is just taking a rest for a while, or if it is the medicine helping with that. Whatever the reason, I am very thankful. Love to all the family. Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and Neva.

Don and Darcy coming to Oly on the 30th

Hi Mom and Dad, and Deanne and Darla,

Don and I are going to be in Olympia on Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday morning.
On Sunday, we're going to a reunion at the orphanage/school where Don's mom went down in Toledo. He's been in contact with some people who may remember her.
Since you've had some trouble accessing the blog - I'll call tomorrow.
See you soon
Darcy

Memory

Nothing big, but moms having trouble remembering things, so we're going to make a daily checklist for her to go through. A visiting therapist recommended it. The therapist was wanting me to needle mom a bit more to follow up on exercises and things, but my mentioning it is only making her snarky. She also hasn't managed to get onto this blog, so I'll have to help her from her house, since it was pointless to try over the phone. Since bear is full of more happiness and exuberance than I can stand right now, I will take him over there to spread the joy. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
Also, since I don't get to talk to everyone too often, I'd appreciate if you could post anything noteworthy.
Thanks,
Deanne

latest from Oly

Dad went in for his memory appointment this morning, and told the doctor he was just happy he remembered his appointment (I don't think he even knew he had an appointment till mom got him out the door this morning). I'm a little unnerved hearing him admit to the doctor he doesn't usually remember where he's going, and has been forgetting how to get home. Of the many things that contribute to memory problems, one is anemia, and he has had low iron, but quit taking the supplements. That was one of the less depressing options, so I'm rooting for that, as it's somewhat stopable.
Moms jaw has been twinging, but not at full strength. I've tried to get her neurology appointment moved closer since it's keeping her from eating but they're booked, so she's on some waiting list and can get called if any one else cancels.
She still hasn't managed to log on to here, and I reminded her of her log-in info this morning, but I want her to do it herself to help her remember how.
I'll update on neurology and dad when theres news.
Love to all,
Deanne

my wife created this blog for her mother, neva. it is my first blog so please forgive me if i don't really know what a blog is. neva was raised on camano island, therefore the mabana girl handle of this blog. i have always enjoyed the knowledge that she was raised in such a, to me, beautiful enviornment. there is something of the pioneer woman in her, despite her technological leanings, she is a very handy woman to have around and Ben is greatly blessed. i consider myself, one of her son's in law very blessed to know her also. i have innumerable thoughts to share about her, but one was waking up at 4:oo o'clock one Christmas morning and her and her mother had been wrapping packages for the kids and us all night and seemingly enjoying it. ....ah, life. It is too beautiful. thanks don newman, darcy's husband
